Chantix and the Snow

I haven’t left the house much in the last five days, due to the inclement weather in the DC area. And just when the 2 1/2 feet of snow were almost cleared, a new storm is on it’s way. The flakes are falling again. [cue ‘Debbie Downer’ sound effect]

It’s week 2 onChantix and I think it’s making me feel funny. Ah yes, it’s a feeling I’ve felt many times before: agitated. Agitation and cabin fever don’t go so well together. No seriously, the snow is really coming down now. I’ll have to cancel all my appointments which is usually fine but one of them was with my fabulous hair dresser who books up weeks in advance. Damn.

What’s left?
A little reading, some music, maybe some trash tv. Avoid the bills until tomorrow.

In other news, I’ve discovered the literary bliss that is Walt Whitman.

Backward I see in my own days where I sweated through fog with
linguists and contenders,
I have no mockings or arguments, I witness and wait.

I’ve had the same roommate for a year now and still can’t get used to seeing him almost everyday. He pops around the corner at any given moment, a formidable creative buzz kill. He’ll undoubtedly ask,” Have you given any thought to dinner tonight, if you’ve given it any thought at all?” And I’ll say something generic like, “Hmm not really” and he’ll launch into what he’s been wondering all along, do tacos sound like an option? Or whatever food he had in mind, and maybe some people will find it endearing,, but there’s just something about the expectation of it all that grates my nerves.

And to throw in cabin fever to this wintry mix, is absolutely absurd. Damn you nicotine.
